Membership
Membership dues are the simplest way for a GLBT individual to help assure that Lambda Phoenix Center is able to continue to offer its services to those who seek a measure of sobriety and serenity in our community.
Many people confuse Lambda Phoenix Center, Inc. with the 12-Step fellowships that meet in its halls. Lambda Phoenix Center, Inc. manages the building, providing a space for the fellowships to meet.
Your membership donations cover the operating expenses that are not fully met by the rents collected from the groups.
Here is a list of some of our costs:
- Water $3.50 per day (x 30 for a month, x120 for a quarter, x 365 for a year)
- Cleaning $8.50 per day (x 30 for a month, x120 for a quarter, x 365 for a year)
- Electricity $12.50 per day (x 30 for a month, x120 for a quarter, x 365 for a year)
What is a Membership and what does it include?
The membership fee is $60 a year and makes a big difference! Keeping a building running full-time requires a lot of coordination, effort and funding. If only 3 people need a meeting on a Wednesday at 3pm, the Center still incurs the bills to pay for lights, water, heat and/or air.
Your support keeps the Center open whenever someone, anywhere needs a meeting. You will receive a Membership card, a receipt for tax purposes and our monthly newsletters. You will also receive:
- 20% off admission to Lambda events, such as the Birthday Dinner/Meeting
- 25% off advertising rates on the The Exchange part of our website (classified and display, coming soon)
- The right to inexpensively rent Lambda for recovery events
- The right to vote for Lambda Board members
- A voice in Lambda affairs
- The opportunity to run for Lambda Board positions (two years of recovery required)
Plus, you are supporting GLBT recovery in Phoenix, and giving back to the community that has given so much to you. With your support, Lambda can better support GLBT recovering men and women and provide the services they need, as well as a safe place to recover without fear of discrimination.
