Parking Lot Update from our Vice President

Hey Gang! Here's the parking lot update! I've been very busy this summer but I do believe our membership needs an update. We are looking at September for the rezoning signage I've been promising in meetings and, as soon as that goes up, the many avenues your board is looking at for funding the project will be greatly needed.

The city always moves terriblly slow, but is favoring our improvement project. Since all of us have jobs, we too have been delayed. The parking lot is truly a necessary upgrade and we really are moving forward even if it looks like a snail's pace sometimes. The membership had three objectives for this board last year. We are currently actively getting bids for converting our bathrooms to ADA standards. More details to follow on that issue. Thank you so much for you patience with all these issues.

Update on Zoning Issues

The Parking Lot Task Force passed a milestone recently. We were able to file plans with the City of Phoenix Development Services Department, one of several consideration filings that will go through the City of Phoenix. During this review, the city's development services office will consider our overall design, traffic flow, and details for change.

Facebook Now Linked to Lambda Website

Facebook, a social networking site, has become a way for its members of a particular community to share ideas, as well as have a little fun. Lambda is now on Facebook. Lambda's Facebook community is a closed group and not available to the general public.

Narcotics Anonymous Grows at Lambda

A year ago, Narcotics Anonymous had just made its return to Lambda after a long absence. Now, just over a year later, two meetings have been added. Both meet in the East (Big) Room. Positive Living moved to Lambda on its old night, Mondays, but at 6 pm instead of 6:30. A new meeting, Progress Not Perfection, has been added on Friday nights at 6 pm.

Pride 2009

Last April marked Lambda's first participation in Phoenix Pride. The LGBT Recovery turned out in force to represent us, so we are participating in Pride 2009. The event was a great success and we expect this year's turnout to exceed last year's.
