Facebook Now Linked to Lambda Website
UPDATE: As part of the new rollout, Lambda is also debuting a Facebook "fan" page, which will replace its little-used "group" page. You can go to the fan page here. This page will let people post comments to the wall, which will available to all, fans or not. We are hoping this page will allow our membership to better communicate. Check it out, become a fan, and stay informed!
Facebook, a social networking site, has become a way for its members of a particular community to share ideas, as well as have a little fun. Lambda is now on Facebook. Lambda's Facebook community (group) is a closed group and not available to the general public.
In order to participate, you must have or create a profile on Facebook. User names on Facebook are first and last names. You can set up your profile to only let it be visible to friends, who must request permission to view your page. Many people, however, have public profiles. Already, we have several such people in the Lambda group.
We have disabled the photo upload feature in order to maintain the anonymity of members. However, you can post photos on your own page and show them to your friends. Please make sure you have the permission of all people in the photos before you publish them.
You can find the group here. It's a great way to stay in touch with the club. When new events happen, emails are sent out to all the members in the Facebook group.
