Thought for the Day  (Click to reveal)

When we leave this world, how much we have loved will be our true legacy. It is the only thing we will leave behind and carry with us.

Fundraising Year in Review

"The Work is not Done; it has just Begun"

The efforts of the community has improved the year to date income by 22%; donated $7500 and increased net fundraising by 60%. BUT, the net amount is $2600, which is less than one month's worth of Lambda's expenses.

So what? First, LPC's average monthly expenses are $4000, divided by 30 days translates into $130 per day to run the club. LPC currently collects an average of $87 per day. This means that the concept of voluntary contributions without structure from the Board is causing meetings to not be self-supporting. The Board will need to address this along with the meeting representatives.

Second, I made a Call to Action: Subcommittee members to help solution the separation of Board-funded Activities and Fundraising. While the Board would love to eliminate the need to ask for a couple of bucks from each of you frequently, we simply do not have large donors nor the budget to have monthly "free" activities. There is a solution, we will work together to get there!

Lastly, merely suggesting Lambda invest in an air conditioner $10k, new bathrooms $25k, and a parking lot $30k is easy. What distinguishes LPC from a church is that we do not have weekly meetings where a committed group of people contribute 10% of their income ... or do we? Is this something you can do? Please don't wait to be asked.

The Work is not Done; it has just Begun.
